I agree with Christo. Very exciting in that your work will help our coaches continue to move into the future.

Please let us know about your back ground, Testing etc.

Thanks for your work and take care,
Tom K.

Story is I bought my GMC 1 year ago and I love it. Fits my lifestyle and the size is right. I live in NYC and it just fits in my driveway. We took many over night family camping trips this year and the co-operation and camping experience improved my family dynamic considerably. I often just use it as a big van for family Ice Cream runs and as a support vehicle for my children's high school athletic activities and as a tow rig for my track days. It's been a big hit and the bathroom on wheels has been of great service to my wife and 3 daughters. I have a family of 6 so breakdowns and systems failures are not an option.

In order to get my GMC where I wanted it I needed to do many upgrades, Fuel injection, Alternator, rear disc brakes, master cylinder but there is still much more to do.

The modification that I'm most proud of and really needed was to be able to run the roof A/C on the alternator and inverter at idle in LIE traffic with out draining the batteries. This required some large cables and a modern Alternator capable of putting out 100+ amps at idle.

My hope is to share some of these upgrades from my own perspective with the community becasue I've been very frustrated with SOME of the parts availably of parts from the well know vendors.

My background is in IT and as a hobby I support a few guys who race cars including myself. Many of my innovations and creations find their way on to a racetrack where lives are in the balance, I take what I do very seriously. BTW the old 70's Jag track track has working ABS and soon a GMC motorhome will too

Terrific story! Please consider adding a signature block so we'll know a bit more about you and your coach. When you get going with your parts biz, feel free to get in touch if you want to put up an ad here on the forum. Welcome and congrats on your experience so far with the magical GMC Motorhome!

ICS,
WE really need to hear more about you and this coach. You wrote NYC with the only hint being the LIE, but that could still be from any of 5 boughs. As my undergrad was all at Ft. Schuyler and was a long time resident of the megopolis, I would love to know where in NYC you have enough driveway for a GMC. My first guess would be New Dorp as I remeber houses there with real driveways. As a child, I lived (literally) in Great Kills on a sailboat part of most years.
We would all like to hear more about what you have done to this coach.
Please add a sigfile with your name (so we will know who you are when we meet), a short about the coach (they were not all alike even when new) and a better geographic reference than NYC.
Matt

I would be very interested in an “All new and improved steering box”. Tired of the inconsistent wandering even after following all of alignment instructions posted by GMC gurus.
