Hello from Northwest Indiana...
I just brought home a 1977 Kingsley - TZE167V102281

Was looking for a vintage trailer or motorhome, as probably everyone here have always liked the GMC models.

Didn't know if I wanted to tow or drive, honestly still don't but I found a coach that seemed like a well cared for example.

Just got her home last night and will have the holiday weekend to see what I've really got.

Thanks in advance for the resources and experience.

(There are currently over 9,129 GMCs accounted for)

* Note about the Build Date of your GMC: From the decal on the inside of the glove box door - look for a number on the top line just left of center, similar to "032174". This example indicates the build date as March 21st, 1974. *

I'll reply with history I know about your GMC.

Thank you

Welcome, and congrats on the exciting purchase! I'm glad you got a 2nd chance on that one.

I was in the same boat as you, so to speak. I started out with an Airstream, since I was convinced I didn't want an extra engine, transmission, etc to maintain. What really tipped the scales for me was the ability to bring a boat and a camping unit at the same time--or a toad if we're in a coastal town or something. We borrowed a motorhome for a weekend once, and it was more fun than a trailer. Just traveling around on the road in your living space is neat! Easy access to the fridge, or the bathroom; different places to sit if you choose, windows all around--it's a cool experience. We just got our new coach on the road (finally) and have been loving it. Good luck with yours!

Nice Boat! Do you use the coach to launch on ramp? I'd be afraid to esp at low tide ...

We stick to reservoirs, so no tides to worry about. When camping with others I'll usually have one of the guys with a Duramax launch for me. But we did use the GMC to launch and pull out on Monday. The new 3.70 gears and LSD made it feel better than last time.

Mr. Massey,
My Coach no longer has a decal in the glove box.
It was previously renovated by cinnabar for Mr. Wilcombe from Yuma 2007-2009.

The TZE number is located on the passenger side exterior fire wall. There should be a data plate there. You need to open the passenger side access door. The one where you add engine oil. Look on the lower left corner. Good luck and welcome.
