I put in the duotherm heat pump, which puts out 15k of cooling and 12.5K of
heating. Pluses, higher cooling. Negatives... slightly noisier, and wont heat
unless outside temp is 40+. The penguin is a little quieter and sits down a
little lower. Don't know if this makes any difference in anything, mileage,
style etc. just my .02c.

I have the Penguin (my sole air con unit) and I like the fact it shuts
down completely when it reaches the set temp.

Occasionally, it tends to cycle on and off as if the an adjustment is
needed but generally it is nice and is quietr than the old duo unit!
