Ms. Pam McDonough, Director:

I have recently heard of the action taken by the IL Dept.of Health as a
result of lobbying activities by ICOA.

Surely ICOA is less concerned about the health of visitors and citizens
of Illinois than they are about possible lost revenue to their camp
grounds.

Although I rarely stay overnight in parking lots such as a Walmart, there
are times when it is important to get off the road for a few hours and a
campground is not a suitable option. Walmart provides security to
shoppers (and overnight parkers) alike.

I assure you that if this remains in effect, I will no longer find it
desirable to vacation in or spend my travel dollars in the state of
Illinois. It is quite obvious that this action is politically motivated.
I believe once this information is disseminated over the internet via the
many camping & rv clubs your tourism bureau will decry the loss of
revenue from the many vacationers & travelers who use rv's.

About some 20 years ago I decided that California was not an RV friendly
state and I haven't visited there in my motorhome since!

I sincerely hope wiser heads will prevail & the politicians will see the
light.

Sincerely,

David Lee Greenberg
