Does everyone set their idle speed at 1100 for running with the HEI
ignition. I changed my vacuum advance to the GM 10 degree model and set my
timing to 8 degrees but presently have my idle at about 700. It is running
smoothly at that. Do I need to move it up to 1100???? The book makes
reference to this where it is talking about setting the timing. It just
seems so fast. I have never set an 8 cylinder motor at that speed. Can't
wait to try out the new vacuum advance. I hope no more pinging problem!!!!
