Hello Wayne,

Wayne, I don't think anyone sets there idle speed at 1100 rpm for normal
driving. The 1100 rpm stated in the manual, and on the engine valve
cover, for setting the timing is just a reference point for setting the
timing. After you set your timing at this rpm you can adjust the idle
sped to anything that works for you. I also have mine set at around 700
rpm for normal driving. The best way to set your normal idle speed is
with the A/T in drive, and with the A/C compressor operating. Under
these conditions, I have my idle rpm set at around 600 rpm.
