I sent the following letter to the Illinois tourism bureau today:

To: tourism

Dear Ms. Pam McDonough, Director:

I have been made aware of the action taken by the Dept.of Health in your

state in connection w/the ICOA. I assure you that if this remains in
effect, I will no longer find it desirable to vacation in or spend my
travel dollars in the state of Illinois. It is quite obvious that this
action is politically motivated. I believe once this information is
disseminated over the internet via the many camping & rv clubs your
tourism bureau will decry the loss of revenue from the many vacationers
& travelers who use rv's.

I sincerely hope wiser heads will prevail & the politicians will see the

light.

Following Ed Kremer's example and using his letter to some degree I also
sent a letter to the Illinois Dept of Tourism.

A few thousand letters should have some effect, if only to overload the
Dept's mail box!

Ms. Pam McDonough, Director:

The recent action taken by the Illinois Department of
Health regarding rest stop RV parking in WalMart lots
is a result of self-serving lobbying activities by the
ICOA.

You seem to forget that as a RV tourist I have a choice
as to where I spend my time and money. Your stance
this issue convinces me that Illinois will be well on
the bottom of my list.
