I had a similar fuel starvation problem. It turned out to be a very SMALL leak on the suction side of my electric pump. It was like sucking soda thru
a broken straw. At idle and acceleration as you describe it was good. Then the air would come in and cause problems. Fuel did not leak because on the
suction side there was no pressure. your mileage may vary.
