Our senior husky, Bruno, suddenly needed to say goodbye this weekend. It's been tough. He loved traveling in GMCs--I wish we could've done more of it. He even went with me for the dramatic retrieval and drive home of our Glenbrook from Phoenix. He was a great companion, and watched over our daughter from day one of her life.
He was gentle enough to let the little ones lay on him, and even walk him on a leash.
He was tough enough to protect our property from moles, squirrels, skunks, racoons, possums, vultures, and even a cougar.
He was adventurous enough to participate in every outing--backpacking, roadtripping, beachgoing, hiking, kayaking, swimming, boating, sledding, and more.
He was content enough to laze around with us when we needed it--to get tucked into a blanket and have the kids read him stories.
I guess it just serves as one of those reminders in life to enjoy what we have while we can. 12 years with the adopted misfit shelter dog is a pretty good run, but doesn't seem like enough. Sorry for spamming you all with so many photos, but there are just too many to choose from. I suppose that's a good thing.
