For 3 days of their hospitality, and some fantastic meals. I had asked ar=
ound for a lead on an exceptional GMC to buy. I wanted to get one for our D=
aughter. She's a doctor in the Twin Citys of Minnesota. It had to be very d=
ependable. So, price wasn't an issue. Emery called with a prospect. The ow=
ner had bought it new in 1976. In Southern Calif. Always stored inside. Had=
used it a lot. And kept it extremely well maintained. Inside, and out. As =
close to perfection as you can get. ( Well not quit. The plate lite at the =
rear was burned out.) Engine, trans, and FD were all rebuilt about 16,000 m=
oles ago. An extra rebuilt 455, and trans were included. Both still crated =
up. The front suspension was all from Dave Linzi. Even Daves latest rear di=
sc brakes. Then even all the rest of Dave's brake components. All new SS ex=
haust system. Aluminum radiator. GM/Howell EFI. Engine fire system. Mac das=
h. All appliances are fairly new. A trolly system for engine swapes. Real n=
ice GEO Tracker. With a Blue OX tow bar. With braking system. Crates of new=
parts. He called his price. Done deal. Then it was found that the Michalin=
e tires were dated. So, he said that he'd put a new set of Michelins on. Wh=
ile the tires where being installed. He had the engine oil, and antifreezes=
change. While on his way home. He topped off all 3 gas tanks of the GMC/Tr=
acker. Then the LP. The 800-mile trip home was perfect. This GMC was a =
real part of the PO's family. This was an emotional event for them. They wi=
ll be kept up on the GMC's travels. So. Many thanks to Emery, and M=
ichelle for this memorable event. Bob Dunahugh
