Having done my new headers with the thin coating, I can say emphatically
that it was a mistake not to have had Swain do it instead.

I agree. I had a set of headers Jet Hot coated, ran the motor a bit
lean and burned the stuff off at all the bends. HPC coated them
afterwards and had somewhat better luck but by then I had the problem
figured out. From what I've read and heard here, Swain is the real
performance answer.
Still, these things are only motorhomes and I'm not sure 30 or 40
degrees reduction in temp under the hatch for a few hundred dollars is
the answer. I think I'd give Darren Paget's insulation/sound deadener a
try first. That's just my way of thinking though for however much it's
worth.
