I don't know if it is a result of people not actually having done the work
or if it's a well kept secret, but I found that I had to grind some metal
off the upper portion of the pan seal retainer on the cover to allow it to
fit into place. As you tap it into place, shoot some RTV into the top of
the pan seal on each side. Had I known this up front, it would have saved
me 2 hours of aggravation & cursing (yes, I know it doesn't help, but I feel
better). That's how I did it & it doesn't leak. (yet) Your results may
differ.
