Tom,
I didn't even know of the existence of the "Mondello procedure" when I did
mine. I just relied on my experience & my ability to inflict pain upon
myself. I think the key to the mystery is in the last line of the Modello
how-to: "Now apply RTV silicone to the end rails and bolt the pan in place."
I did not drop the pan---whole lot of difference in room to get the seal
into place.
I guess you did yours differently than I did mine.
