> Need to replace the toilet in my ‘75 Eleganza II. How much time is typical for removal and installation? Any pitfalls to avoid, best practices

Do yourself a favor and find the installation document for the current toilet and read thru it to get an idea on how it got installed. That should
help with the un-install. John is right about corroded hardware, it can be really difficult.

So, for this corrosion thing, help prevent it in the future. As you are putting it together with the new toilet, put a little white lube on the
threads of nuts and bolts or assemble with mostly stainless steel. Been doing this for years. Helps a lot when you gotta take it apart 10yrs from
now. 10yrs will go by before you know it and you will be glad you SS'd or lubed. JWIT

How much time? How big is a fish? Like everything else GMC or otherwise depends on several factors. Ever done it before, or something like it? Are
you a seasoned plumber, fair mechanic, all thumbs? Do it piecemeal or all in one go? etc.
