How Do I Remove Driver Side Dash Panel?

Removed all the screws along bottom, side, and top (even the ones protected by the windshield...stupid design). The panel seems to be connected with
rivets and a bracket to the lower dash panel (see picture). Is that right? Do I have to drill out those rivets? There are two screws through the lower
dash panel that secure it to the bracket but even if I remove those I do not see how I can remove the side panel with that giant bracket attached. I
must be missing something...It can't be this hard.

Mine did not have that bracket because it doesn't have that panel covering the area under the column. What does it take to remove that panel first?
Mine had 2 screws concealed behind the wood and the fiber paneling that is in the groove on the rear of the panel.

The 73 Glacier interior was built or not from front to back, so fasteners for a section may be covered up by the next section rearward. The front
section is probably common to yours. The hidden screw behind the upper panel caused me the most consternation...the panel wouldn't move!

Rivits gotta go I'm sorry to say. There might be a screw up under the dash going into that side panel also. My side panel also was mounted under the
rear wall at the rear which made it tough to remove.

Just to close the loop in case someone else searches later. You guys were correct. The bracket that is shown in the first post went from the left to
the center of the dash and was riveted on both ends. This serves as a support for the piece of the lower dash under steering wheel. You first have to
take out the lower dash piece (see picture):

Then you can drill out the rivets and remove the side panel (see picture):

Bryan,

After drilling out the rivets on that brace, I reinstalled it with molly
bolts to make it easier the next time.

Thanks Gary. I am doing the same no question about it. I am just curious why they didn't use them in the first place.
