No, when wired in series, the voltages add but the amps do not; in parallel,
the amps add but the voltages do not. The same goes for amp-hours.
That is to say, if you had two 6 volt 200 amp-hour batteries, if you wired
them in series, you would have the equivalent of a 12 volt 200 amp hour
battery. If you wired them in parallel, you would have the equivalent of a 6
volt 400 amp hour battery. Two batteries still gives twice the power (power,
expressed in watts, is equal to volts times amps...)
