RE: HOT WATER PRE-HEATER
Boy were we LUCKY!
Just after we bought our '76 Royale, We took it to a local garage to have
everything checked and serviced. When it was discovered that the hoses
runing back to the water heater were old had been disconnected, I had them
put in all new hoses and reconnect the system. Little did I realize what a
chance I was taking. We could have very easily ended up with coolant
running all over the floor, but could have also had a seriously hot 455.
Well, we got lucky. Instead, we got 6 gallons of REALLY hot water after
each days travels without having to go out to light the GD water heater
(usually in the wind). As a matter of fact, we've only lit the water heater
once in 16 months and 14,000 miles, and that was because we stayed 3 nights
in one spot. Some day I may put in a 110v. reater rod, but until then I
echo Rick's recent post; "I love my Motor-Aid water heat system, and
wouldn't be without it! "
If any of you have disconnected systems, I urge you to resolve whatever
prompted their being disconnected and hook 'em up! Added bonus: Saves
propane and helps cool the engine.
Cheers,
