Old thread but still:

I am in the same boat, and wonder if anyone has a part number that can
be used to search for this. My 23' is due for inspection, and the horn
isn't working...

Peer,
As you may have noticed, I know the problem....

There is a flat aka belleville spring, the cup, three screws and an insulator that are all worth collecting out of any GM of the period and most of
the more civilized Jeeps (they used a GM column for years).

The part numbers are:
Insulator/bushing 9754764
Cup-receiver 9748190
Spring-Belleville 9749040 (Replace 9749363)

I used to go through a lot of these parts until I stopped the windshield leak. I never had trouble finding good ones in the scrap yards, but I was
not in Germany. The parts are common to virtually all the GM cars with a center horn button.

When I could not find one, I could usually get the old part to be functional by wire wheeling it. This usually works until the belleville spring
fails.

Good luck

Matt

Good Luck,

Seems that's the main culprit - all the other items look okay. And of
course, my usual sources do not have that thingie.
