Finally fired up the engine with the spreadbore Holley installed last night.
Also, having the Autozone(E8012S) fuel pump installed was a great asset. I
switched the pump on to prime the carb and saw fuel pouring out the
secondary spray bars. Two raps with a screwdriver handle unstuck the rear
float and all was well. Then turned the key and she fired right up - no
cranking for 30 seconds waiting for the carb to prime - don't know why I
hadn't done this before.

A couple notes on the pump. It came with 5/16in hose barbs and the fuel
hose on my coach(just downstream from the tank selector valve) is 3/8in.
The pump inlet and outlet are 1/8npt and I as finally able to find 1/8npt x
3/8in hose barbs at Discount Auto Parts. Also, the price for the pump at
the Riverdale, GA Autozone was $32.99 instead of the $26.99 posted here.
Currently have the pump wired for prime and emergency use only with an amber
lighted switch off the ignition lead. I'll probably re-wire to add a
push-button for priming and wire the switch off the alternator output(fused
of course).

I was able to install the Holley without a spacer, but had to modify the
linkage lever on the carb to do it. The Holley is slightly taller than the
Qjet and I'm currently using an air cleaner off a 77 Toro(HEI ignition),
which is slightly higher than the OEM air cleaner. I'm still scratching my
head as to what to do with the engine cover. I may try modifying the OEM
air cleaner to clear the HEI distributor to gain back some clearance.

Haven't done a road-test yet and will post my impressions after that.

I'll try to post the pic's this weekend.

My Holley installation by the PO called for some light hammering on the area
where the HEI interferes with the air cleaner. The engine cover has a 3/8"
recess to house the air cleaner. Not sure what type of aircleaner it is as I
have never looked closely at anyone else's. Afraid to get slapped for peeking
below the covers.

I believe that I'm the one who posted the original info on this pump
and I had bought it for $26.99 plus tax here in Santa Fe.

I installed it and I still had some problems but not with this pump
but rather with the Holley high pressure electric fuel pump that
powers my Holley TBI system. After talking with the Speed Shop where
I bought the Holley system 6 years ago, I replaced the Holley pump
with a Mallory pump (I'll post more info on the Mallory later for
those using TBI systems). The Mallory has a separate priming feature
so I find that I don't need the Autozone E8012S pump now. I used it
all of about 25 miles. If anyone wants to buy it I'll sell it for my
$27 cost but not charge you the tax or the shipping costs. As
Patrick says, it should work great for a carb system or for a TBI
system using the smaller fuel injection pump.
