I will be leaving here Thursday headed for MI. Going to try a 100 mile trip
tomorrow afternoon with the toad. Just got to do a close in shake down
cruise before I take off. I will be in Croswell, MI June 10 and Houghton,
MI June 18. I will be in the campground behind the Cracker Barrel
Restaurant in Port Huron, MI Friday through Sunday night. I dont know
where I will be up in Houghton since I dont even know where it is. I hope
to do Black list in the morning. This is it folks. First big run----dont like
it
this way but I have no choice.

You may have the sensor installed upside down. If the gauge shows nearly
full (or something like it) when the tank is empty and then decreases as it
becomes full your problem is probably an upside down sensor. I think if you
rotate the sending unit 180 degrees in the tank it should work.

I'm with you Justin. Mine hasn't worked in 14 years. I'd be happy if it
worked backwards. Darn it. Now I've got something else to repair.

Just checked out my new sensor that was sitting on the shelf waiting for me
to get around to installing it. The Cinnabar sensor has a five hole pattern
that can be installed at least two ways (ask me how I know...). Coach is a
76 Palm Beach, but Cinnabar sent the sensor independently of the model year.

Cinnabar is still sending the old sensors (at least they did to me). I
believe that I'll just buy the Golby unit and forget the one that I have.

When there also look for the fire hydrants with the long poles and
red squares attached to them that stick up about 10 feet in the air.
These are so that the firemen can find the hydrants in the snow banks
in the winter! Suggest that you not bring your GMC there in the
winter!

I already ordered one. Decided that doing that job twice (again) wasn't on
my list of fun projects.

Tom - I bought the Golby senders about 2-1/2 years ago and they work
very well. I think that you'll find that they are not "solid state".
They are just a variable resistor mounted in an external plastic case
which is magnetically coupled to the inside float. This keeps the
corrosive sewage away from the electrical resistor and the contacts
so it should last.

The way it is mounted to our tanks makes the meter on the outside
face work in reverse but since we have our electrical panel meter it
is no problem.

I think that your tank level meter has the wires reversed to cause it to
read in the negative, It only can read current of the monitoring circuit.

Sorry Chuck but since the wire going to the tank is a ground wire
from the gauge panel and the sender is just a variable resistor it
doesn't matter which lead from the sender goes to the gauge and which
lead goes to the ground. The gauge will operate the same either way.
