A hill or grade in California is a long incline that seems to go for
ever. I-15 out of Barstow to Las Vegas is one such grade, I think it is
about 6 or 7 percent and goes for probably 50 miles. Another is out of
San Luis Obispo up the Questa Grade. I think this one is at least 7 or
8 percent for 3 to 5 miles. There is one out of Big Bear Lake that is
posted 16 percent and less for 22 miles. Going up no problem but coming
down, even in low low, I had hot brakes. Chuck Lompoc
