High PS oil temps

I was running the rescue coach today and noticed the hydraulic lines at the wiper motor were too hot to touch. The coach was just sitting idling long
enough to bring things up to operating temperature so the steering hadn't been moved. I wonder if a dirty filter @ the wiper motor could cause
something like that? Any ideas from the brain trust here?

As easy as it id s to get off, I'd pull the filter and check it. I never held onto the lines on my coach (but now I'm gonna) to see how hot they get.
I note, however, a lot of newer cars have an outboard cooler in the steering pump line. You might could get one to fit in a coach. Indicates to me
that they do get hot.
The wipers worked great on the coach I sold. They don't work great on the current one. They do one swipe and stop. Turn them off and let them park
and rest and they will do one more swipe. Since the steering seems OK, I suspect I'm up for a wiper motor. The electrics are nice, but I use the
wipers so infrequently I don't find it worth the effort... if I can get the stock ones going.

You don't want that system too get to hot or the seals in the pump and steering box will start leaking. When I first bought my coach they were cooked.
I found a finned cooler off an old Pontiac that I. Installed in the return line that kept things cooler but Yes check the filter.

The late model Cadilac’s have a very good plate cooler on the power steering system and it comes in several sizes. I have been running a cooler on our coaches since 2000. The power steering system being a closed loop system, the pump can generate a fair amount of heat in the fluid.
