Hi folks!
After having been off the list for several months, I just
re-subscribed. As of Monday, I am officially retired..having been
"bribed" with a severance package to do so ^_^. Life is good. (But
please continue to purchase lots of gas, chemicals, and other oil
products so my pension will stay secure...)
The second and last child starts college this fall, so we're on our
own and it's time to start putting our Birchaven to use again. After
some extensive mechanical upgrading (and cleaning up after some
unwanted furry guests...) we drove the coach to Orlando for some
interior work and a paint job. I followed the Head Wrench in the
Explorer and had a hard time keeping up! Good grief. I didn't think
that coach could go 75+ !! But since Lazarus (our Onan) has expired
for the final time, and the dash AC didn't blow cold anymore, I guess
the driver was trying for some forced air cooling *_~. We made the
trip in two days from Texas. The Motorolla walkie-talkies really came
in handy in coordinating bio breaks.
Now the Head Wrench is going to have GMC withdrawal...(of course he
can work on the '87 Jeep, just so he can keep up his skills...) The
biggest decision to be made on the GMC in the next few weeks is the
paint scheme for the coach. Considering most of our money is going to
Texas A&M University for a while, I guess we should seriously consider
maroon....
