Hi everyone-

I thought I'd officially introduce my coach, a 1976 Palm Beach. you've already heard a bit of dirt about her, so I figured I'd bring her out into the
light, warts and all.

I've got so many questions about the condition, set up, and rigging on this coach.

Pictures are indeed with a 1000 words, so why not start there?

Question 1-Is the second level AC venting aftermarket add on?

Switch on the far right opperates the high setting on the AC

middle switch is a light switch for extra LEDs on the front

Left switch is not connected.

Looks like you are going to be chasing down plenty of PO add-on's. I can't help you with any of the switches, the only thing I notice in the
photo's is it had a CB radio at one time, so you might find some power wires ran for that. Coach dash I am dealing with has the same thing.

I think the radio has been changed since new. Maybe nothing changed in the wiring, but I do know the coach dash I have been working on lately, has
some odd dumb wiring for the radio as well.

Rear view. considering swapping out the barrel chairs for either a dinette or another Davo? Would like to sleep more than 4.


this totally baffles me. I tested the isolator, and it seems good. I cant understand why someone would by pass it.



take a look at this beautiful ball of wonder. Trailer wires?

That is an interesting interior. do you have another picture of the couch? that does not seem stock, but sure looks good with the green plaid.

fridge looks a little interesting as well.

You could have a "combiner" in place rather then the isolator. I would be pretty surprised if they ever got any trailer wiring off of the front of
the coach.

some do not have connections on them, just wires sticking out.

After you insert the picture, paste the URL of the picture without using the "insert an image" button. That way people on the mail list can open the
picture in their preferred browser.

OR

Read the first thread in the Forum which is a sticky on how to do it the difficult, fancier, way.

The photo with the tied together four wires are normally for towed lights. These are up front? They could be used for something else, can you find the
other end?
Isolated definitely not connected, wonder why, especially since your testing indicates that it is functional. Wire from alternator should be to center
connector, the two outer posts should go to engine battery (battery box photo), and back to where ever the house battery is located.
You really need Allen's OEM wiring diagram, it will help a lot.

What you did would work EXCEPT that updates to a forum post do not get distributed to the mail list subscribers. You need to repost the whole thing in
its entirety to do that.

For now, I would just make a new post with the urls listed.

Next time you post something with images, do it with both image inserts AND naked URLs. Or follow the sticky, which results in only the pictures
rendering in the forum, and only one instance of the urls in the mail list. Either way gets the job done.

I would do whatever possible to get the wiring back to stock. That way we might be able to help you some. If there is something that you want to do
or keep that is not stock, then document it well for the future either for your or a future owner's use. You probably will not remember 4 or 5 years
from now the exact wiring changes from OEM or addons that you made.

On the pictures. Email users do not get a lot of things that we see on the forum. Threading, sub-threading, online pictures, posting updates, and
enrolled posting user information are a few of the items. They also do not see any changes or updates to existing postings. That is why we try to
accommodate them with things like quoting and posting inline URLs twice.

The email users always have the option of signing on to the forum as a guest with reduced features or signing in with their user id to see what they
missed. They are going to have to use a web browser to see the pictures anyway, so just give them the URL for this thread and they can see
everything they missed with their web browser.

It's usually pretty easy to pick through PO wiring and by distinguishing it from GM stuff and surgically rip it out. I have done this on several cars
and trucks and back to stock everything worked. Also the Max AC duct is factory for your coach. That went away in 77 for the final revision of dash
AC.

I strongly agree with Ken and John. Remove the scabbed together wiring add
ons but make sure you document and understand your changes. Well thought
out and executed electrical systems can be hard to troubleshoot. "Custom "
stuff only makes it more challenging.
