Have any of you had your upper steering column apart and sussessfully
reassembled it?
This afternoon I pulled the steering wheel in order to replace the turn signal
switch. While in there, I jiggled the steering shaft to check for wear. WRONG
THING TO DO! The upper inner bearing race seat (part #28 on fig. 16.035 of the
GMC parts book) worked itself out (or maybe it was already out?) How do I get it
back in? Isn't it a press fit into the inner bearing race?
Please tell me there is a trick so that I don't have to learn how to
dissassemble the whole column!
Thanks,
Richard
