hmm, interesting. Their website won't let you reserve it (too far in advance), but apparently you can call.
Probably true of a lot of places. That park appears to limit to class A coaches that are at least 25' long, and must be in good condition, etc.
On the coast there's the possibility of fog/clouds, which would be a killer. Newport average August weather: High 66, low 51, rain: 1.02" However,
if the weather is good, you should be able to see the shadow race across the ocean, which would be cool. Given the expected crowds, relocating would
probably be difficult given the expected crowds. People will be coming from all over the world for this.
Another interesting thing I just learned is that OR state parks allows "event camping" at all their parks:
Quote:
> Event camping is available in any reservable Oregon state park campground. Campers must reserve a minimum of 20 campsites, yurts, cabins and/or
> horse camps. The dates of these reservations must overlap each other for at least 1 night during the entire period that is being reserved. Event
> camping reservations must be made 10 or more days before the first arrival date in the group.
>
> Event camping for at least one night entitles your group to one day free use of a group meeting hall if one is available at the park (except
> Silver Falls North Falls Lodge, Champoeg, and Honeyman). You must use the free day during your reservation period (except for your departure date).

We'd need to first pick a park (or two) and get a firm commitment for at least 20 coaches, assuming it's even possible to get such a reservation for
this event.
