When I had Alex Sirum rebuild my 73-455 a couple of years ago I bought a
rebuilt 75 OLDS 455 distributor from Autozone to replace the mechanical one
that was pretty tired.
I didn't realize that it was any different than the ones installed in the
motorhome. Alex and another friend who has test driven my coach said it
didn't seem to have as much get up and go as theirs.
It does make sense that they would put a different module in to put in
slightly less advance due to the heavier load on the engine.
Can I just get a GMC module somewhere and change it or is there something
else that has to be done to the distributor?
TIA
