heater shutoff valves

I'm considering installing a shutoff valve in front of the heater core on my coach. We're taking off Sunday across country and
witht he temperatures I don't think the current mixing of hot air and A/C will cut it. I've run out of time making needed
imporvements to the coach.

So, any ideas of the impact of just installing an inline cutoff? It loks safe to me, but as I've found out working on the
coach, looks can be deceiving.

Don't quite understand your comment "...of the impact of just installing
an inline cutoff?" I know on no impact. All you're doing is
restricting coolant flow to the heater core only.

For that particular modification, that's all there is to do.

Did you see the information I provided in a message on Jul 16th, subject
GMC Service Denver Area, on where to locate the valve?

That was my assumption. But since I'm about to drive 5k+ miles I wanted to get some feedback before I cut hoses. I feel
comfortable doing the modification now.

I missed it the first time as I ddi not plan to put in a valve. But with your reference I went back and read it. Thanks.

Henry.........I've had an inline shutoff for quite some time without any
problems. I would suggest a brass one if you can get it. .......Jim Davis

That's what I'm hoping. The existing shutoff lets noticable heat into the coach. I have new hoses so I don't expect problems
with them - but I may take some replacement along "just in case."

My coach is a 1976 Palm Beach. Runs pretty well now - but I'v been looking at the temps across the central states. We leave
Sunday for Pennsylvania and will ahve to drive through soem much warmer areas.
