Heat protection

It has been brought to my attention that since I've installed headers, my
speedo cable has become vulnerable to damage...and the effects that stem
from that.

What are you using to prevent this type of heat damage? Is there anything
else that requires shielding?

I'm not using headers, but the stock manifolds also wrecked my speedo cable when I first got my coach. I bought a new set and wrapped the lower one in
DEI heat protection sheath:

I just removed the lower cable to lube it and the outer cable looks brand new under the heat sleeve

Mike,

Years ago I formed a heat shield from aluminum and mounted it between the
cable and the headers. I don't need it on the Cad500 with iron manifolds,
so I can't tell you what I bolted it to -- but I did.
