This is the first I have heard of this problem Emery. I can't figure how
the insulation could cause it. With or without the insulation the heat
in the compartment will remain the same IMO. The floor got hot before
because it absorbed the heat. Is it possible that it absorbed as much
heat as is produced by the engine? The insulation you have should not
reflect the heat back. There is nothing in it to reflect. If you have
the side vents they should dump a lot of the heat in the compartment. I
know one thing which made a huge difference for me was when I raised the
engine cover. I feel the extra air flow across the top helps. I have my
insulation in my compartment and notice not even a degree of temp rise
on my floor now. I have never noticed the interior of the compartment to
be any hotter than before. I have no auxiliary electric fan to blow air
through but also haven't been in 100 deg. heat either. As long as the
bottom of the compartment is open I don't understand the idea of a
hotter comp. because the top is insulated. Maybe I am missing something.
Maybe not. If the aluminum substructure does act as a heat sink this
would be a design flaw IMO. Let me know what you find out Emery.
