I would like to put a new headliner in the Coca-Cola before I sell it.

Is there a FAQ or Web site available for help? Is this a job that an average
guy like me can do?

Any suggestions as to where I can buy the material?

Call tom bradley, who helped me do my ceiling. We did a great job. He lives

information about doing it yourself.

If you are referring to the rigid formed plastic headliner over the driver's
and front passenger's heads, they are available from Cinnebar. I looked into
this myself but when I learned the price was more than $500 (if my memory is
correct) I decided I could clean up the existing one and live with it even
though it has yellowed with age.

If, on the other hand, you are referring to the headliner material covering
the main coach area, I would check with a van conversion shop in your area.
One in my city has a number of materials available, some with sound
insulation bonded to the back of the fabric. Also, I noticed the JC Witney
catalogue contains several materials including the fuzzy fabrics and smooth
perforated vinyls that are used in most automotive applications.

I used a tough appliance enamel that was an almond color. It matched
what I thought the original color should have been. I did both the
front and the rear plastic headliners. I removed the front headliner
and repaired a hairline crack, but I left the rear in place and masked
well and went to work.

I just had Jim Bounds COVER my front plastic cap with vinyl to match my
leather seats. Tricky but Jim pulled it off. It had turned yellow and was
awful.

You can also get a PPG stain to cover the yellowed front cap. It really
looks nice but can be scratched. The vinyl is much more durable.

The vinyl Jim used was 8.59 per yard and came in a 56 inch width so there
are no seams.

How did you fix the crack in the front headliner?

What about the plastic trim surrounding the dome light/speaker combo which
is set into the front plastic headliner on each side? It is also yellowed on
my coach, matching the aged headliner.

Any tips for improving the look of them? Replacements are no longer
available, at least not from Cinnebar.

I, too, have a small crack in the leading edge above the sun visor and would
like to know how to repair it.

It was a hairline crack in the front center. When I had the piece out,
I took it to Tap Plastics and they testes several different glues. I
used the one they recommended and it welded the piece back together. I
am sorry that I don't have the brand name or the chemical name, but a
good plastic repair shop should be able to help. If you know where to
look, you can see a faint line, but it is much better than letting the
whole thing disintegrate.

When I painted the headliner, I also painted the speaker covers. I
removed the speakers, the light & switch first.

I had my plastic HL in front covered with vinyl then stained the speaker covers
to match. Turned out real nice.

You can also stain both. Jim Bounds recommended a PPG stain.
