Hello list,
I have seen where some folks did meter readings on headers vs.
manifolds on noise and temperature but what about coated headers vs.
stock manifolds on temperature ?? I have Doug Thorley uncoated headers
on my 77 Palm Beach which get super hot. I was reading that on
http://www.performancecoatings.com that they claim up to 120 degree
drops in under hood temperatures. Have any of you compared under floor
temperatures with coated headers vs. stock OEM manifolds. As you know,
Cinnabar does not recommend headers at all because of the high engine
compartment temperatures. If it is possible to reduce this much with
coatings, it should be getting headers back down to reasonable
temperatures. Does anyone have any data on this? Are the coatings
getting header under floorboard temperatures as low as OEM manifolds?
