I just dove into my remaining McCord and Felpro catalogs. My part numbers are gone. This is no surprise, so is McCord.
Then there is Felpro PermaTorque and that seems to represent about four different constructions and there is now only one part number for 455.
I used to make different for consumer and one for competition. I don't know what a 8171 is these days, but good luck.

Matt - was McCords Aftermarket and racing for 5 years....

For the head gaskets I would use felpro gaskets. Summit has the standard felpro or the high performance ones that are a lot more bucks but seal more
positively if it is a concern. Rock auto was selling the standard ones pretty cheap last year . I would definitely check and adjust the preload of
each lifter . It takes awhile but is worth while if you want a smooth running engine. I used the thicker mr gasket 404 intake gaskets and notched them
to accept a piece of stainless sandwiched between the head and intake.
