Greater Midwest Classics has a trans on hand that can be rebuilt if it's needed for someone. That can loose a day, or maybe 3 days. Or the core just could be not rebuildable. I'm having a trans done so that I can get it to someone that day. ( Hate having dirty parts around anyway ) Iowa. Bob Dunahugh.

Before you do that, at one of the recent Greater Midwest Classics rally's, the membership approved the rebuilding of a 425 transmission to be kept on
hand for use by those in the area, or passing through the area who needs one. I think a fella by the name of Jerry Loen was going to do the rebuild,
and I volunteered the two transmissions that I got from you for parts or a rebuild core. Also, as soon as I am clear of other things I am working on
around here, if I haven't heard from Jerry, I am going to have one of those two transmissions, rebuilt by Steve Turnquest of Transformation
performance, and have it on the shelf for those who would need one. The only issue with doing one for the shelf is that we don't know how long it may
sit on the shelf before it could get used. Just something to think about.

For long term storage, Manny's technique is to plug the bell housing vent,
set the transmission on its chain housing, and fill it with transmission
fluid (he uses WalMart's except in switch pitches -- Mobil 1) all the way
to the top of the final drive flange. A solid cover, made using a gasket
as a template, bolted to that flange keeps things sealed and protected
indefinitely. An eye-bolt into

Larry. Thanks for the up date on that. I have a rebuilt trans on hand now. And it's stored as Ken H talked about. I also have a complete rebuild kit on hand. And I'm concerned that those gaskets in the kit. Will shrink up. So the best way to store the kit. Is put the kit in a trans. Then store it correctly. It makes me sick to hear of owners getting taken for a ride when traveling. Bob Dunahugh
