I'm not an expert but I had a huge Halon bottle in the engine room of my
boat with automatic controls and an override switch as once the Halon
bottle goes off the engines (diesels) are starved for air and quit.

The main problem in the MH engine environment, I would think, is that
Halon works best where it can sufficate the fire, i.e., in a contained
area. I imagine in the MH compartment that isn't going to happen.

I would never use this kind of extinguishers in the living area due to
concerns about inhaling this stuff.

BTW, when I say Halon I recognize that it may not be available these days
but there is something similiar. The nice thing about Halon type of
extinguishers is they are residue free. This may not matter much if the
fire is extensive.
