I have a 26' 1973 which I gutted the 'home' part and rebuilt as electric only. 1,500 watts solar, 5 KwHr LiFePo4 battery, 5,000 watt pure sine wave controller.
I took everything off the roof and platted all the roof penetrations with urethane, 1/16" aluminum and pop rivets with no leaks. Fought a couple leaks at the roof/front and rear FG ends but resolved them with a wide, thick bead of urethane as the al/FG joint moves with thermal expansion.
All lighting is 12 volt DC and all power consuming devices such as heatpump, hot water, induction cooktop, bar frig and microwave are 120 AC.
I installed a diesel heater as an emergency backup but do not intend to use it,
The windows are silver reflective plus blackout blinds and no light escapes at night for stealth camping.
Under the solar panels I have 1" foam and interior foam/foil bubble wrap/3/8" plywood a felt ceiling tiles to reduce heating and open windows and a fan work well in summer. A 9,000 BTU 120v heatpump does the job for the other seasons. Thankfully we don't have oppressing heat on BC's south coast.
There is heat tracing on the water lines and insulated and heat tapped black water tank insulation.
I converted to the Sulley airbag setup and have 16" alloys from dually pickups.
The 'motor' part is largely stock and I try not to mess with it as longterm plans are to convert it to EV but I figure the hotrodders are doing most of the conversion R&D so no hurry on that. I did remove 1 fuel tank though.
Right now it is on the Island and our son lives in it every 2nd week while he is stationed away at work.
