There is one advantage that I can see to a gray water tank. While parked
with hookups, the black tank valve should not be left open and the tank only
dumped when nearly full to ensure that it empties completely. However, it
doesn't hurt anything to leave the gray water valve open all the time when
connected. This reduces the workload on the "designated dumper"(and you
know who that is in my family).
That said, I don't think it would be worth the effort to retrofit an
existing floorplan.
