I'm with Jim on this. A few stains...no big deal. Beads in your engine...big deal. Personally I would not even chance it. I fella I know rebuilt
his SMC and as a part of the process, bead blasted his rocker covers, just so he could paint them and look nice. 10 minutes into the run-in, knock
...knock...knock. Took out the new motor. That stuff gets into places where you can't get them out. JMHO....based on observed bad experience.
