Paul, here's my contribution to the list of worthwhile stops.

The place is called "Sir Scott's Oasis" in Manhattan, Montana. It's easy to
find, about a mile north of Interstate 90 at exit 288, about 60 miles east
of Butte. Their steaks are so good, we eat there when ever we get within
100 miles of the place (which is at least a couple times per year whern we
visit kids in Kalispell). They serve 7 nights a week starting at 5:00, and
reservations are very strongly recommended as they always seem to be busy;
406-284-6929. Large portions and absolutely the best steak we've ever had.
(but then we didn'y know about Gilbert's when we were in Jackson, MI last
fall :-)

ps: looking forward to better straighter columns as this list "matures".

Dave:

Thanks for the input and especially Gilbert's. Tim's going to wonder about
me. Here I am less than 40 miles (at work) from him and I overlooked
including it in my initial list. I will now though. Must be my CRS
disease???

By the way, although I haven't been able to access Patrick's web site to see
if it was successful, I did e-mail him the initial listing to see about
loading on his web site.

It's in there(apologies to Prago) - can't remember the url(lotta'
that goin' around), but you can get there from "What's New".

The access problem is due to a Bell Atlantic network outage this
morning. Back on line now, but still running slow.
