The January issue of MOTORHOME magazine describes the Kilgore gears that
change 1st gear from a 2.48 to a 2.75 ratio. 2nd gear is changed from a 1.48
to a 1.57 ratio.
These were installed in my '77 Kingsley in 1989 and they now have over
110,000 miles with out any problems. My only caution is when downshifting
on a long, steep grade that the engine RPM is not excessive. I try to limit
the engine RPM to no more than 3100.
