Glenn, and maybe some others-

This furnace will fit our coaches very well and at the same time has
only a very small outside cap that shows on the outer skin of the
coach. I like that as I don't appreciate big "patched on" components on
the side of the GMC.

I believe you have essentially two ways of mounting the furnace- Mount
it so it is sitting on a triangular shaped wedge which enables it to
more or less fit the sloping side of the motorhome, with the outside
vent cap and vent tubing going in at right angles to the outside skin
and to the furnace. This is the way that Coachman and possibly others
have mounted it. Those with this configuration, can, if they wish
improve the set up marginaly by still instaling the sheet metal piece in
the back end of the furnace next to the outer wall. It will just give a
better seal and permit the cage fan to suck air more efficiently.

The other thing one can do is mount the furnace flat on the floor. If
you do this you will need an angled outside vent cap, which also has
longer round tubes to slide onto the matching tubes of the furnace. The
longer tubes are required because the furncae will now not be sitting up
flush against the outside wall. In this scenario you MUST add the sheet
metal end to the furnace or you will compromise its operation. You really
don't need to buy this if you have a pair of tin snips, a tape rule, a
square of sheet metal, and a drill. The longer tubes, and angled outside
end cap can be got from Cinnabar.

Hope this helps,
Claude.
