Jim White..........In your recent letter, you said that you removed the
old faded stripes on the sides of your coach. What you neglected to tell us
was how much dynamite you used and how many weeks of scraping and grinding
you went through prior to using the dynamite. Could you clue us all in on
how you, "removed the stripes"?......Jim Davis on the Oregon Coast where
we're beginning to suspect that Fall is coming soon.

After countless hours of putzing around with a hair dryer, plastic
putty knife and various chemical adhesive removers I finally stumbled on
a technique that worked great. Mask off the top & bottom of the stripe,
(use the good blue masking tape) Get your hands on a qt. can of Stahls'
Thermo Lettering Remover Solvent. Dampen a cloth with the solvent and
take a swipe across the stripe. This will remove the color from the
stripe but will leave the vinyl. The remaining vinyl will soften quite
easily with a 1600w hair dryer and will peel off much easier once the
color has been removed. You can then use an adhesive remover to get the
goo off. Worked for me and the solvent did not attack the paint .You
should be able to get the TLR Solvent from anyone that does screen
printing.

HTH Good Luck
