I don't think it will be much help in examining the numbers on the
outside of the box as these may, or may not, indicate what is on the
inside. If it is original equipment possibly the numbers may mean
something, but on after market exchanges perhaps they have little
mweaning.
I'll illustrate with my own experience: When one of the seals were
leaking, I decided to have it rebuilt by a company in Toronto,
Canada.The OEM comes with I believe a 20:1 ratio. I had them redo it
with a variable ratio of 14.5:1 The outside of the box has no change,
the changes are all internal.
The same thing can hold true with the brakes,and I believe Heinz is
correct in saying what's inside may be different, and in some cases
definitely is.
