Sounds like you have an early door. The early doors were anodized. I can't
tell you when the change was made to powder coating. Also I would say you
have a poor fitting door if it rattles. If we are successful in our attemp
I will trade you out of the unsatisfactory door.

My early Birch door rattled all the time. I used to stuff paper towels between
the screen door and the exterior door. I hated it! I also thought the design
sucked because I didn't have easy access to the exterior door latech...or so I
thought.

While at the GMCMI rally in Forest City I had the opportunity to view other
doors. During the viewing I realized the problem. It turns out that there are
3 sliding panels in my door. They all can slide to the left. When they are all
the way left, there is no rattling. Also the exterior door latch is very
accessible.

My problem for about a year was .. ... I didn't realize that all 3 panels could
slide to the left. To make them slide left you have to work them a little.
Otherwise they won't slide left...And I thought I knew what I was doing!
