Dave-
I think I have a new one for you. Found a 73 Sequoia parked at the
beach near Provincetown on Cape Cod. Drove up and the wife said "I
didn't know that anyone else had one of these!" They have owned it for
15 years.

He told me that "The only place that carries parts is Gateway". And
"You can't just go to NAPA and buy a brake caliper." "There is nobody to
ask if you have problems with your GMC". "The rear wheels bend in at the
top.Rear hub and bogey pin installation cost $4-5000, I think mine are
ORIGINAL." I set him straight on all counts.

It is original outside with dark (really, really dark) wood inside.
Surfboard rack, storage locker for the wind surfer on top. Probably a
good 11-1/2 ft tall.

When he went off bike riding I parked next to him and took Julie up the
sand dune to look down on the two side by side. No comparison inside or
out. I think Julie finally realizes that we got a good buy with the
new, crisp paint job, and that we have a really nice coach, despite what
we have spent on it so far. The driveway paving crew is due early next
week.

His info is:

TZE 063V100431
Mark Goebel
53 Broad Street
Chickopee, MA 01020

Ron and Julie
73 Painted Desert

P.S. I am no longer a virgin. The coach made it to Cape Cod and back
without any mechanical problems. In fact, she ran great and slept 7 in
comfort. The leaky water and sewage system are something else
altogether.

Dave,

She never admitted that the GMC was better than the driveway. She justy
didn't complain as much. This is a victory in itself.

I guess you can only pity a GMC owner who feels so alone when there is so
much help out there! Meeting you was a lucky day for that family.
It also appears you got lucky also, if Julie decided that paving the
driveway is the 2nd best investment after what you spent on your GMC!
