Duane - reason i was shy on using cabin power for compressor was due to
Murphey getting me recently - I had both cabin and engine batteries low
at same time - I did not have enough battery to start either engine or
onan - but I did have a portable jumper battery (great buy!) that i used
to get onan started then charged both sets of batteries from it - it
seems to me that I am more likely to run the cabin batteries low than
the engine battery - if I can level and get back on the road with the
engine battery then I can recharge the cabin batteries while in motion

I put in a new ground wire from compressor to cabin fuse panel - works
great using the original hot wire (which I assume comes from the engine
battery)

thanks

You'll find a schematic at my site
http://meltingpot.fortunecity.com/greenside/321/ to change the voltage
source from the engine battery to the house battery.

Edgar - thanks for the URL for your electical schematics - I like the
idea of the monitor light for the compressor moter using the existing
wiring - that swings my decision to use cabin power for compressor - i
will make that change soon

for now i have the ground lead problem solved
