Duane,
Thanks for the comments and suggestions... I ordered my new Jabsco from
West Marine today for $129 (plus shipping) and talked to Chuck Kokesh. He
advised the Tee fittting to allow both the pump and stock drain if needed.
I'll follow his lead and replace mine it in a week or so using the Tee, HD
wires and breaker you spoke of. Thanks again....

Nate & Others
I live about 10 miles from a Jabsco factory/distribution center & have
been there many times for repair of other people's macerator. The repair
man has stated to me many times that the Macerator likes to have water in
it at all times & the impeller will not harden as much. So I always
leave water in my holding tank (no gate valve between tank & macerator) &
have never had an impeller harden to the point that it would not start &
pump.
The macerator are "Bullet Proof" if installed properly.
Small & long hook-up wires are death to the macerator's starting Torque.
I have short wires (about 5 feet each) & is 10 gauge (AWG) for both
ground & hot. My wires are attached directly to the rear (house/Onan)
Battery's cable for maximum voltage under load.
I prefer using a 20 amp. automotive type circuit breaker over using a
fuse. Fuses are unreliable & will not allow brief over current
conditions during the motor start-up. The start-up current is much
higher than the full-load running current of about 14 amps. & therefore a
circuit breaker does a better job of protection. Also it will reset it
self when it cools down.

That's MHO
