Don,

I recently did away with my original engine fan and installed a 16 inch
electric "puller" fan from J.C.Whitney on the back of the radiator. It
has an adjustable thermostat and a sensor that is mounted close to the
upper radiator hose. I added an illuminated manual switch as an
override, mainly to use after shutting the 455 down to cool off the
engine compartment. So far it does a grand job. Leaving the fan
running for about 5 min. after shutdown cools the compartment so much
that I no longer have the "dragging starter" syndrome when attempting to
re-start a hot engine. You'll find no add-on side vents on my coach, as
they are not needed.

I paid about $100 for the fan, but Whitney has lowered the price $11!
I'll let everyone know if I have any problems, but so far so good.
