I've always wondered if there were 'standard' color / model combinations.
For example, I've never seen a bittersweet Kingsley or a Frosted Mint
Eleganza.

I've looked at Patrick's site http://www.gmcmotorhome.com/faq/rpos.html
which has Zak's compilation, but some of these color names don't jive with
http://www.gmcmotorhomes.com/catalog/page16.html perhaps these were '73 only
colors.

At one time, I thought I'd found a paint chart that had the Ditzler numbers,
but I can't find it tonight.

So I'll pose this question to the experts: Were there "standard" color
combos? Zak's article would indicate this is so, at least in later years.

Also, did the interior decor RPO mean that it was a specific color,
upholstery pattern and fabric? Are all Kingsley's a rust colored corduroy
fabric with louvered cabinet doors?

What is the difference of the interior? Not the layout, but the look and
feel between the models?

Do all Palm Beaches have louvered doors while the Eleganza has raised panel
doors?

Mark,

According to the stuff I scanned from the GMCMI newsletter for Patrick's
site, there were no real standards for '73 and '74. After that, they did
standardize the exterior and interior colors with the model name. That
indicates to me that sometime after '74, every GMC with the same model name
would also have the same interior and exterior colors. The only
differences between GMCs built after '74 with the same model name would be
optional accessories and floor plans. For '73-'74, there were more
combinations (if you include the optional accessories) possible than total
GMC's ever sold because any exterior color could go with any interior which
could go with any model name which could have any floor plan which could
have any optional accessories. GM really allowed you to custom order your
GMC then! I guess it became too expensive/complicated to build them like
that later on.

The color #'s in the two links do seem to match to me. They just aren't as
elaborate in the GMCMI newsletter (ie GMCMI uses Yellow instead of
Pineapple Yellow and uses Green instead of Parrot Green).
