Chuck,
Wouldn't leave you Kingsley's out as that is what I am looking for with the
rear or side bath w/tub. Just didn't have all the names of the models close
at hand when I wrote it.

Also, does anyone have the list prices for the different models by year? My
insurance company will only base the insurance on the original cost.
Haven't really pushed them yet as I only knew prices from $14-40,000. Don't
know which ones cost what or which year either.

Roger:

Here is info on the subject I sent previously. If you have trouble lining
up the column's, let me know.

P. S. Incidentally, Gene or Patrick, you may want to include this data in
your web site's so it is available as a matter of interest.

Does anyone know a better inflation multiplication factor (present value)
for 1973-1978 dollars to get the equivalent in 1998 dollars other than what
I could come up with? What I got is as of Mar of each of the years: 1973 -
3.072; 1974 - 2.987; 1975 - 2.717; 1976 - 2.504; 1977 - 2.294; and 1978 -
2.130.

For example, a 1974 26' Sequoia priced at $15827 times (x) the 1974 factor
(2.987) equals $47245.38.

Thanks Paul,
Great information, didn't even think of the inflation factor. That puts the
pricing in much better perspective.

Using the inflation factor with taxes and options that are on my ' 77
Kingsley, I now find I can't afford to buy the coach I already own !

Now what :-)

Mike,

I just looked up the C.P.I. and calculated that your Kingsley, which listed
for $31,267 in 1977 would today list for $85,157 if the list price had gone
up in lock step with the C.P.I.

Hope that makes you feel more wealthy, at least when denominated in $U.S.

Paul,

According to my SRC wall chart the C.P.I. at year-end 1998 was 2.73 times
the level at the end of '77. (I'm eyeballing it off of a graph so it could
be 2.7-2.8x, but that should be close enough to illustrate the point.)

That translates to a 4.9% compound annual rate of inflation over the past 21
years in the U.S.

Get a new insurance company ASAP! Don't settle for that stuff about NADA
book value.

You will find original costs in the NADA book.

The coaches are selling for about the same thing now that they did new
(with exceptions, of course)
